For a new home, solar can be considered early enough to coordinate roof layout, equipment location, access and electrical planning. For an existing home, the system can be evaluated around the building and its electricity use.
PM SURYA GHAR · CURRENT SCHEME FRAMEWORK
Central Financial Assistance
for eligible residential consumers.
Under the current PM Surya Ghar framework, eligible residential consumers can receive ₹30,000/kW for the first 2 kW and ₹18,000 for the additional 1 kW, giving a maximum central CFA of ₹78,000. Tamil Nadu has introduced an additional state rooftop-solar subsidy of ₹5,000 for 1 kW, ₹10,000 for 2 kW and ₹22,000 for 3 kW and above. For an eligible 3 kW installation, the combined central + state support can therefore reach ₹1,00,000.
